
Introduction to Excite
Excite is a small Excellence in Cities Action Zone made up of Broadgreen High School and thirteen primary schools from the areas of Dovecot, Kensington and Old Swan in East Liverpool. Establishment in 2000, Excite’s original priorities were Attendance, Attainment and Attitude.
Excite was approved for DFES funding until March 2006 and its priorities now include:
Accelerated Learning
Excite’s major focus is an accelerated Learning programme. This is designed to identify alternative teaching methods and try to discover how to teach to students who have different learning styles.
Literacy, Numeracy, & ICT
Excite is committed to enhancing literacy and the Numeracy and the use of ICT across the entire curriculum ain all of our schools.
Key stage 4
Excite is working with Broadgreen high School to improve results t Key stage 4 (GCSE).
Transition
Excite is trying to improve the transition process of the pupils from Key stage 2 to key Stage 3 (the move from primary to secondary school and its associated primary schools. The transfer between Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 is also being addressed.
